Statewide Exhibition: Seaside Two Paintings from the Collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts

Different in style and technique, these artworks by William Adolphe Bouguereau and Edouard Manet depict figures by the shore, a popular subject for artists across cultures and centuries. This traveling exhibition is organized by the Detroit Institute of Arts. The Muskegon Museum of Art will supplement the Muskegon appearance with seaside paintings from its own permanent collection. The exhibition will run February 1 through March 26, 2017 in the MMA’s Bettye Clark Cannon Gallery.
