Each of these FREE FAMILY FUN DAYS has a different theme and features free museum admission and activities. Super Saturdays are underwritten by MMA Education Partner Alcoa Foundation/Howmet.

Horse Super Saturday
Horsing around will be welcome at this equestrian themed Super Saturday!
10:00 am & 1:00 pm Film: Racing Stripes
(102 mins) Silly…Zebra racing is for horses! Join us as we watch Stripe (the zebra) try his luck at horse racing.
11:00 am – 1:00 pm Guided Exhibition Tours
Tour Horse Power: Images of Horses from the Permanent Collection with a museum docent.

Yarn for a tail, buttons for eyes—Create your own mixed media horses.

Victorian American Girl Super Saturday
Experience the Victorian Era at the Muskegon Museum of Art and the Lakeshore Museum Center. Explore the life and culture of Victorian age people with activities at the MMA and the Hackley and Hume Historic Site.
10:00 am & 1:00 pm Film: Samantha: An American Girl Holiday
(86 mins) In this film, 9-year-old Samantha Parkington becomes friends with Nellie O’Malley, the young Irish maid from next door. Learn how their different backgrounds and upbringing will challenge their newly forged friendship.
11:00 am – 2:30 pm Activity Stations: Participate in four fun activities at both museum locations, earning a stamp for each activity. After you earn all four stamps, you will be eligible to enter a drawing to win a mini American Girl® doll and American Girl doll DVDs and books. The winning entry will be drawn at 2:30 pm at the Hackley and Hume Historic Site. Activity stations will be open at both museums throughout the day.

· Learn about and try your hand at Victorian crafting activities.
· Watch the film Samantha: An American Girl Holiday on the big screen in the MMA’s auditorium.
Hackley and Hume Historic Site (484 W. Webster Ave.)
· Take a sneak pick in the Victorian Era mansion of Charles Hackley, a treasured part of Muskegon’s history.
· Explore the many games that Victorian children played.
