Second Saturdays of the month are FREE FAMILY FUN DAYS at the Muskegon Museum of Art!  Each Super Saturday is FREE and features a different theme and coordinating activities.  Sponsored by MMA Education Partner Alcoa Foundation/Howmet.

 

NOTE: SUPER SATURDAY WILL NOT BE HELD IN JUNE.

Zendoodle Super Saturday
Free Family Fun Day
Turn doodles and scribbles in to a mini masterpiece. This process begins with a simple square sheet of paper and a black pen; the doodles you create will develop your intricate masterpiece. Free admission and activities are underwritten by MMA Education Partner Alcoa Foundation/Howmet.

Rock-A-Doodle

(74 mins.) A musical tale of Chanticleer, a foolhardy farm rooster who believes his crows can actually make the sun come up and shine. When the sun rises one morning without Chanticleer's crow, he leaves the farm in disgrace and runs off to become a rock 'n' roll singer. But in his absence, a sinister, sunshine-hating owl prepares to take over.

Explore Interference Pool with a museum docent.

Using a pen and square piece of paper learn how to transform your doodles and sketches into a zendoodle.

Raggedy Ann Super Saturday

Free Family Fun Day
Did you know the first Raggedy Ann dolls were made in Muskegon from 1918-1926? The MMA, Muskegon Heritage Museum, and the Lakeshore Museum Center will to celebrate Raggedy Ann’s Muskegon beginnings during this fun-filled Super Saturday. Grab a Raggedy Ann booklet, complete activities at each of the museums, and enter to win your own Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, and other fun prizes. The drawing for the prizes will take place at the Muskegon Heritage Museum at 3:30 pm. Free admission and activities are underwritten by MMA Education Partner Alcoa Foundation/Howmet.
