Director Stanley Kramer, 1959, 134 mins.
After World War III, an American submarine crew sets out from Australia to search for survivors in the devastated northern hemisphere. Based on the novel by Nevil Shute, Kramer’s film is a dramatic statement against nuclear weapons that explores how we might find ourselves facing up to the ultimate human folly. Admission is free for Muskegon Community College students, Muskegon Museum of Art members, or with paid Museum admission. Underwritten by Muskegon Community College.
