Brown Bag Film

August 24 @ 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm

The Navajo Code Talkers of WWII

(75 mins.) This lecture by Peter MacDonald was recorded at the USS Silversides Submarine Museum on July 7, 2017. The original lecture was a sold-out event, so this is another good opportunity to view Mr. MacDonald’s talk and learn about the critical contributions that Native Americans made to victory in WWII.

Peter MacDonald was born in 1928. He was a politician, the only four term Chairman of the Navajo Tribe, and a member of the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II who served as a Navajo Code Talker.

The MMA’s Brown Bag series offers films related to The North American Indian on 2nd and 4th Thursdays during the run of the exhibition. Complimentary coffee and cookies will be provided during each show. Film admission is free. Paid admission is required to visit Museum galleries.
