Brown Bag Film

March 23 @ 12:15 pm - 12:45 pm

George Bellows

(29 mins.) George Bellows was a baseball player at Ohio State University before moving to New York City, where he studied with Robert Henri. Bellows was known for his gritty, bold and energized paintings of life in New York City. Some of his most famous works depict the graphic nature of boxing (an illegal sport at the time). This film captures the fast paced life of Bellows and his artwork, which was cut short with his untimely death at the age of 42.

Brown Bag Film admission is free. Paid admission is required for gallery entrance. Auditorium doors open at noon. Complimentary cookies and coffee are provided.
