Postcard Salon

January 31 – February 7, 2013

Small scale original artworks by artists in the region will be on display, then available for purchase, at low cost, during the annual Postcard Salon Sale on February 7.

Be inspired. Create small works of art. Own original art! The MMA’s popular Postcard Salon returns in 2013.
Join the fun by (A.) creating your own postcards for the show and (B.) attending the party on February 7.
All postcards will be on sale for $30 apiece, so show them, sell them, and buy them.

Artists of all ages and skill levels, working in a wide array of media, are invited to take part. If you’re interested in participating, the event is free, but there are
A few rules:

• Artists may enter up to five postcards which must measure 4”x 6” exactly and be on a heavy stock paper, rigid backing, photo paper, or other similar material. Securely attach a hanging device, and we can handle wood, glass, and ceramics, too. Depth is variable—if we can hang it on a nail, you can enter it.
• All media are welcome, including paint, marker, pencil, collage, ceramic, found objects, and textiles. Subject matter is up to the artists, but of course creativity and originality are appreciated by viewers and coveted by buyers. COMPLETE GUIDELINES pdf

Cards may be hand delivered or mailed to the MMA at:

Cards must arrive at the MMA in an envelope with your name, address, and phone number or email. We won’t accept cards without this information. Label the back of your cards with your name and the title.
Cards are due by January 27, 2013.

Reception & Sale
All cards will be available for purchase on Thursday, February 7 for $30 each, beginning at 7:00 pm. The MMA splits the sale price 50/50 with the artists. Join us for the reception at 5:30 pm, followed by the sale at 7:00 pm. BECOME AN MMA MEMBER AND GET A 5-MINUTE HEAD START TO BUY AT 6:55 pm. Refreshments will be served starting at 5:30 pm.
