Good Design opens with celebration and national exposure

260 guests attended the opening preview reception for Good Design: Stories from Herman Miller last night. Past and current Herman Miller designers and officers attended and regional universities were represented at the event. MMA Executive Director Judith Hayner paid tribute to the Herman Miller design and industrial legacy during her remark presentation and before she introduced guest curator John Berry and exhibition coordinator Timothy Chester. Hayner announced that the show is already contracted to travel to the following cities:

 

_ Goldstein Museum of Design, Saint Paul, Minn.
_ Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, N.Y.
_ Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, Wis.
_ Hunter Museum of American Art, Chattanooga, Tenn.
_ San Francisco Museum of Craft + Design
_ San Angelo (Texas) Museum of Fine Arts
