The Art of Journaling Workshop Deadline October 1

The Art of Journaling Workshop, taught by artist Helen Kleczynski will be held at the MMA on Saturday, October 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. To register, call 231.720.2571 by October 1.

Learn how to create a sketchbook journal of your travels, whether you are going to an exotic location or just down the street. During each morning and afternoon session, watch a demonstration and create your own sketch with guidance from the instructor. You are welcome to work in whatever medium you feel comfortable with, but the demonstrations will be done in watercolor. This class will help you improve your drawing and observation skills to capture the essence of place. Students may find prior drawing and/or painting experience helpful, but everyone is welcome. One-hour lunch is on your own.
