Postcard Salon 2012

Postcard Salon returns to the Muskegon Museum of Art this winter with the Postcard Salon Exhibition January 26 – February 9, 2012 and a reception and sale on Thursday, February 9, 2012: Reception 5:30-8:00 pm & Sale 7:00 pm

Original works of art priced at only $30 each may be purchased at the Muskegon of Art’s annual Postcard Salon Sale on Thursday, February 9. The artwork will be on display at the MMA starting January 26.

The MMA’s Postcard Salon features an exhibition of original, small-scale artworks created by area artists in many types of media. The works of art will all be available for purchase at a flat price of $30 each at a Salon Thursday event on February 9. The event starts with refreshments at 5:30 pm and the sale begins at 7:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.

Each year, the Museum invites artists of all ages and skill levels to enter up to five works of art created in “postcard” size of four by six inches for the Postcard Salon. Last year, 860 of the small-scale artworks were submitted for the non-juried event. Art made from many different materials—from traditional paint, pencil, and photography to wood, glass, ceramics—and even jewelry—was submitted. Subject matter is as creative and individual as the artists themselves. Artists wishing to submit artwork must make sure art is delivered to the museum by January 23.
